Neuroscience

Community Regional Medical Center’s Central California Neuroscience Institute is proud to offer one of the most advanced neurosciences institutes in the state. A training site for the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program, the center also has earned "Center of Excellence" status. Thanks to a team of expert medical professionals with the latest technologies in the field, the neurosciences team at Community Regional is able to effectively treat a wide range of neurological, spinal and nervous system disorders.

From simple headaches to more complex diagnoses such as epilepsy and brain tumors, the institute is equipped to treat the full spectrum of neurological conditions. Other disorders commonly seen at the institute include memory loss, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy and strokes. Neurological patients who require admission receive treatment within Community Regional's state-of-the-art, 52-bed neurosciences unit. This specialized area is staffed with highly trained experts who assist patients around the clock. As the only Level 1 trauma center between Los Angeles and Sacramento, Community Regional has a neurosurgeon on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

People are surprised by the magnitude of what we're doing. - Dr. Jeffrey Rosenfeld, professor and chief of Neurology, UCSF Fresno.

Community Regional also is home to some of the most advanced diagnostic imaging equipment found anywhere in the world.

This revolutionary technology allows our care team to pinpoint problem areas within millimeter accuracy and perform the most minimally invasive procedures possible – meaning patients can get better, faster.
