Community Medical Foundation Spotlight

Continuous Improvement isn’t just a buzz-word that Jerry Pajouh throws around casually. It is an integral part of his personal philosophy and one that he incorporates in his family, his business and his community. It’s what’s made him a success.

Pajouh’s story is the classic American success story. The son of an immigrant, Pajouh received his education at Fresno State and went to work selling cars. Twenty years later, he and his wife, Diane, now own the dealership where he got his start and Weber BMW is now one of North America’s top dealerships, receiving BMW’s top national honor as a Center of Excellence.

Pajouh attributes his success to their constant attention to quality management and continually looking for ways to improve. His vision doesn’t end with his business; his passion for continuous improvement of our community is manifested in generous contributions to many local causes. “I give back at every level; at home, at work in my community,” he said. “It’s how I was raised and it’s something that you just do willingly. There is great satisfaction in that.”

The Pajouhs have been longtime supporters of the Community Medical Foundation through their Community Alliance Membership. Their gifts to Community’s area of greatest need help support the level of excellence in programs like the Valley’s only perinatology program specializing in high risk labor and deliveries at Community Regional Medical Center—where Emilee, Ashlee and Gracee Peters (pictured above) were born in September 2006.

“Good health is the basic foundation for any organization, be it a family, a business or a community. Without it, society begins to decay,” said Pajouh. “Community Medical Centers is the major provider of healthcare in the Valley. They care for all people, even those who might not otherwise have the means to seek help. As the son of an immigrant, to know that someone can walk into an emergency room, and maybe not be able to speak the language, but then receive top-notch care, that means a lot to me.”

Pajouh acknowledges that when he first came to Fresno 28 years ago, it was generally accepted that to receive top-notch medical care, you need to travel to San Francisco or Los Angeles. That has all changed.

“Technology like the CyberKnife…it doesn’t happen by accident. Community's cancer program is on the same level as university-based cancer programs like the ones at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and UCLA. We have this technology in Fresno because we have people who support Community Medical Centers and we have the kind of community that can attract physicians that are leading experts in their fields of medicine.”

As the Pajouhs continue to grow their business, this year adding a 43,000 square-foot facility to showcase and sell certified pre-owned BMWs, they plan to continue their partnership with Community Medical Centers and give back to the community that has been so supportive of their endeavors.

“I don’t do it for any other reason than the personal satisfaction I get from giving. ‘Full Circle’ is my motto. When you give without expectations, it just keeps coming back to you.”
