Our Mission/Vision

Physical Rehabilitation at the Leon S. Peters Rehabilitation CenterCommunity Medical Centers’ mission is to improve the health status of the community and to promote medical education.

Despite operating in a climate where rising costs and inadequate government reimbursement have caused physician groups, hospitals and other health care providers to fold, we continue to prudently expand facilities and services for one of California’s fastest-growing regions.

We consistently lead the region in providing uncompensated charity care, and we re-invest vigorously in programs, technology and facilities that protect the health and future of the Central Valley.

One of the biggest milestones in our 100-plus year history occurred in April 2007 when we relocated burn, Level 1 trauma and other acute care services from University Medical Center, a former Fresno County hospital, to the expanded Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno.

An expansion of Clovis Community Medical Center is under way that will eventually add new four-story bed towers and additional surgical suites.

Pediatric ClinicIn August 2007, Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital started construction on an $8 million project that will add two advanced-technology, minimally-invasive operating suites, a 144-seat education center, and an expanded surgery recovery area.

Further remodeling and upgrades are occurring at Community Regional, including a new lab and 100 more patient beds.
