Trauma
The Table Mountain Rancheria Trauma Center, at Community Regional, is the only Level 1 trauma center between LA and Sacramento.  Staffed by nationally recognized physicians, Community Regional has 24/7 specialty coverage that other hospitals lack. more info

Burn
As the region’s only round-the-clock burn center, the Leon S. Peters Burn Center provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for major and minor burn injuries. Last year alone, the burn team performed more than 9,800 burn therapy procedures, and nearly half of the patients treated were children. more info

UC San Francisco Fresno Medical Education Program
The UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program is a major branch of the UC San Francisco School of Medicine. Annually, about 200 residents receive advanced training in the Valley for emergency medicine, family practice, general surgery, internal medicine, ob/gyn, pediatrics, psychiatry and surgical critical care by a nationally recognized physician faculty. UCSF Fresno has trained approximately one-third of Valley physicians currently practicing in these specialty areas. more info

Hyperbarics
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) can be a life-saving treatment for people with carbon monoxide poisoning. It also helps heal wounds by rapidly delivering a high concentration of oxygen to tissues. Last year, there were more than 10,000 treatments in the chamber. The new Leon S. Peters Burn Center has doubled its HBO treatment capacity with new state-of-the-art hyperbaric chambers and has the Valley’s only board certified staff. more info

CyberKnife®
Community Regional was the first in the world to offer “G4” CyberKnife® technology. Located in the Charles and Ann Matoian Oncology Unit, this knifeless surgical system accurately targets and treats tumors. Patients experience no pain, no incision, no anesthesia and require minimal recovery time. more info

Cancer Accreditation
Community Regional Medical Center, along with Community’s California Cancer Center and Clovis Community Medical Center, has the Valley’s only cancer treatment program with teaching hospital-level accreditation from the American College of Surgeons (ACOS) Commission on Cancer. The ACOS approval places Community’s cancer program on par with cancer programs at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, UC Davis Medical Center and UCLA's Harbor Medical Center. more info

da Vinci® Surgical System
Community Regional was one of the first hospitals in California to offer the da Vinci® Surgical System. This technologically advanced surgical robot allows surgeons to transform traditionally invasive surgeries into minimally invasive procedures – increasing surgical precision and helping speed patient recovery. more info

Neurosciences
From strokes to brain tumors, sleep disorders to comas, the neuroscience program at Community Regional provides a myriad of services for the Valley’s ever-growing population. Patients now have access to some of the state’s finest specialists in both neurology and neurosurgery, along with state-of-the-art technologies such as CyberKnife® and the bi-plane angiography system. more info

Rehabilitation
Private rooms and the most experienced therapy team set the Leon S. Peters Rehabilitation Center apart from any other rehabilitation center in the Central Valley. It has the newest, most comprehensive equipment in the region and is the only program with special equipment and software to help brain injury patients recover. more info

Cardiac Care
Community Regional is central California’s leader in diagnostic and interventional heart procedures, performing more than any other institution between Stockton and LA. In partnership with the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program, we offer the only cardiology and pulmonary fellowship training program in the San Joaquin Valley. Our surgeons perform leading-edge procedures such as beating-heart bypass, valve repair and video assisted thorascopic surgery. more info

Research
More than 200 research projects and clinical trials systemwide are currently under way through venues such as the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program, California Cancer Center and our CyberKnife® program. From hepatitis to respiratory clinical trials – lung cancer to HIV/AIDS research – Valley residents now have access to some of the latest medicines and treatments in the country.

Imaging
Community Regional is home to a 50,000 square-foot imaging center that includes two 64-slice CT scanners and the Valley’s only bi-plane angiography system used to visualize blood vessels providing detailed images from two different angles at the same time. This system reduces diagnostic and procedure time while helping patients avoid more invasive procedures for aneurysms, clotted arteries, stroke and spinal disease, as well as playing a vital role prior to performing complicated brain surgery. more info

Joint Replacement Program
The regional medical center’s orthopedic unit was selected as a center of excellence for minimally invasive joint-replacement surgeries by HealthGrades, an independent health care ratings organization. Nationally recognized for excellent clinical outcomes, short patient stays and quick recoveries, this unit is complete with a dedicated surgical team and private recovery rooms. more info

Maternal Child Services
Community Regional offers the region’s only perinatology program – providing specialized care for moms and babies facing high-risk pregnancies and deliveries and taking referrals from 15 other Valley hospitals. More than 7,000 babies are born at Community Regional each year, making it the second busiest birthing center in California. more info

Emergency Department
The regional medical center’s 56,000-square-foot emergency department (ED) is the largest in California and is about the size of a football field. Combined with emergency services that moved from University Medical Center, this ED is among the 25 busiest in the nation.
