Central California residents and visitors alike have benefited for years from the collaborative partnership between Community Medical Centers
and the University of California San Francisco Medical Education Program at Fresno. Today, the organizations are jointly undergoing major expansion and renaissance as they develop and occupy the new Community Regional Medical Center campus – considered the flagship of the largest redevelopment effort in the history of Fresno and the central San Joaquin Valley.
Central to this collaborative renaissance is the fulfillment of a dream – to establish a Cardiovascular Academic Center of Excellence on par with any in California or the nation. The center will include diagnostic, therapeutic, preventive and rehabilitative services for all types of cardiovascular patients needs, whether the problem is confined to the heart, aorta, cerebral or peripheral arteries.
In addition, a true Center of Excellence must include a research arm. To that end, a clinical research center will be developed where UCSF Fresno faculty physicians will conduct studies in such areas as smoking-related cardiovascular diseases, coronary thrombosis, congestive heart failure, technological innovation and other important areas of cardiovascular research.
There are many ways to support the Cardiovascular Center of Excellence. Please consider a gift today or contact the Foundation about ways you can get involved.
