
Community Medical Centers has the only combined burn and Level 1 trauma and critical care facility in the Central Valley, serving residents and visitors within a
service area of 15,000 square miles — an area almost as big as Rhode Island, Connecticut and New Jersey combined. Community Medical Centers burn and trauma staff is comprised of faculty and resident physicians of the University of California, San Francisco Medical School’s special Fresno program.
In Spring 2007, the trauma center at University Medical Center transitioned services to the new Table Mountain Rancheria Trauma Center at Community Regional Medical Center. Community Regional sees more than 55,000 patients annually and is now one of the 25 busiest emergency facilities in the nation and second biggest in California.
