Community Medical Centers is undergoing major expansion and renaissance as it develops and occupies the new 58-acre Community Regional Medical Center campus – considered a centerpiece of the largest redevelopment effort in the history of Fresno and the central San Joaquin Valley.

Integral to this renaissance is the fulfillment of a dream — to establish a state-of-the-art Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where a highly skilled team of professionals with the latest in medical technology provide world-class care to premature & critically ill newborns.

A Level III rating is the highest designation available from the state and means that a hospital may care for very sick infants, newborns who need immediate surgery and those who weigh less than 1,000 grams (2.19lb.) A Level III rating requires around-the-clock, in-house continuous care; neonatologists are in the hospital, not just on-call like many other hospitals, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and are ready to respond in seconds.
