Performance Testing

The Community SPORT Center offers performance testing for those individuals seeking to improve their game, whatever it may be. The most effective way to improve your level of performance is to learn your current level of conditioning.

The best indicator of general fitness and conditioning is a VO2 max test. This is a test in which the air inspired and expired is measured while walking, jogging or running on a treadmill. It is a graded exercise test, which means the speed and/or incline of the treadmill will gradually increase over the course of the test.

There are two tests available, the maximal and the submaximal. These differ in the degree of exertion.  A maximal test requires exercising to the point of exhaustion whereas the submaximal test is automatically stopped once you reach 85% of your predicted maximal heart rate.

You must be cleared by your physician prior to VO2 max testing. If you are interested, please complete and submit the medical history and release of liability forms.
