The da Vinci® Surgical System is powered by state-of-the-art robotic technology that enables surgeons to perform complex surgeries through tiny surgical openings.

Community Regional Medical Center has the only da Vinci Surgical System used for the minimally invasive treatment of prostate cancer.

Traditional or radical prostatectomy, surgical removal of the prostate gland, is one of the most common treatments for prostate cancer. Radical prostatectomy requires an 8 to 10-inch incision and commonly results in substantial blood loss as well as an uncomfortable recovery. The da Vinci Surgical System enables the surgeon to perform a minimally invasive version of a radical prostatectomy.
