Program Overview
As a recent graduate, you're probably wondering which new graduate RN program is right for you. With so many programs to choose from, it is important to select a program that is designed for the needs of new graduates.
As an RN Resident at Community Medical Centers, you are hired as a full-time employee. Upon successful completion of this paid residency, you'll be prepared to work independently as a full-time, professional RN on your home unit.
As a RN Resident, you will get:
- One-to-One Preceptors: (75% of program) Experienced preceptors, unit-based RNs, will work one-to-one with you to provide challenging patient care experiences and share clinical knowledge. RN residents will experience over 650 hours of one-to-one preceptor time.
- Classroom and Skills Lab Education: (25% of program) Experience over 180 hours of classroom and skills lab education, developed and taught by highly qualified nurses and other healthcare specialists.
- Caring and Committed Mentors: Your mentor is an experienced RN professional who will provide support and help you navigate through the complexities of nursing. Your mentor is not your preceptor or your manager, but a non-evaluative, supportive RN who works at your location.
- Self-care/Support Groups: These groups are led by expert facilitators who offer a safe, confidential environment in which to share your experiences and help you develop the practical tools needed to deal with the stresses of being a new nursing professional.
- Individualized Rotation and Orientation: You will ”loop” to and become familiar with other areas related to the "home" unit for which you were hired. During this “looping” experience, you will have an assigned preceptor who will cover specific learning objectives relevant to that area with you.
Additional benefits of this paid RN Residency include:
- Competitive pay
- Generous shift differentials
- Comprehensive, flexible employee benefits package
- Relocation assistance
Participants must take and pass the NCLEX prior to being accepted into the program.
This is an 18 week program with multiple programs offered throughout the year. (Check with recruitment for information on specific dates)
