Lung Services
The average adult takes 20,000 breaths a day. Each time you breathe, your lungs take in oxygen from the air and carry it to your bloodstream. However, for people living with lung disease, difficulty breathing can be a daily reality. Lung disease is any disease or disorder that occurs in the lungs or that causes the lungs to not function properly.
Community Medical Centers in the Central Valley is proud to offer two lung programs that provide a wide spectrum of services. Clovis Community Medical Center and Community Regional Medical Center each have a multidisciplinary team of physician specialists who diagnose and treat a variety of lung issues, and a dedicated nurse coordinator who manages patient care in both programs to help patients move smoothly from diagnosis through treatment.
Often, the difference between treatable and untreatable lung cancer is only a matter of days. Community Regional’s Lung Nodule Program has shortened the average time for patients to move from referral to diagnosis of lung cancer – from 87 days to a little more than 21 days. The Comprehensive Lung Treatment Program at Clovis Community provides comprehensive care for lung cancer and a broad range of other lung diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis and interstitial lung disease.
