Community Regional Medical Center partners with the UCSF School of Medicine and expert physicians to provide pioneering research, advanced care and specialists available nowhere else in the region. Located on a 58-acre campus in downtown Fresno, Community Regional is the flagship of Community Medical Centers’ three acute care facilities with more than 600 beds. Its 56,000-square-foot emergency department is one of the largest and busiest in California, and it is home to central California’s only Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive, regional burn center.

When a patient's condition requires services available at Community Regional, the process of admitting and transferring patients is one of our top priorities. The Transfer Center facilitates and streamlines the patient referral process for the transfer of patients from outlying facilities as well as direct admission requests from physician offices and clinics. It is staffed by highly qualified registered nurses who handle requests made by physicians wishing to transfer a patient to Community Regional. The Transfer Center is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
